Child accused of murder – investigation receives harsh criticism

In 2001, a 12-year-old boy was interrogated by an adult without his parents or legal counsel being present. The boy was suspected of having murdered an 11-year-old in Södertälje. The boy confessed to the crime and was convicted, despite the lack of technical evidence. Several legal experts have since studied the case, pointing out several flaws with the investigation procedure.
