Iran reached a landmark nuclear agreement with the US and five other world powers, a long-sought foreign policy goal of President Barack Obama that sets the White House on course for months of political strife with dissenters in Congress and in allied Middle Eastern nations.

INYTObama vows to defend Iran deal. “Verifications” will be basis for judging nuclear curbs.

BALTIC STATES

Baltic TimesGrybauskaite: Immigrant distribution will not solve human trafficking in North Africa. The Lithuanian PM said without additional measures, she believes the European Commission’s proposal of issuing quotas of refugees affected by the crisis to European Union member states could increase the amount of human trafficking from North Africa.

FRANCE

Le MondeHistoric agreement on the Iranian nuclear programme. Iran and the West reached on Tuesday 14 July in Vienna an agreement on the country’s nuclear programme.

Les Echos Iran: the deal with the West that changes everything. Teheran agrees to freeze its nuclear programme for the next ten years. In exchange, Iran will be authorized to export oil and welcome foreign investors.

GERMANY

Frankfurter Allgemeine (FAZ)Relief after nuclear deal with Iran. Israel and American Republicans criticise it; Federal Foreign Minister Steinmeier believes the agreement may serve as a model for other conflicts.

The Times of Malta – Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is battling to win lawmakers’ approval today for a bailout deal to keep Greece in the euro and avoid bankruptcy, as the IMF pressures Greece’s creditors to provide massive debt relief for its crippled economy.

NETHERLANDS

De Telegraaf – Dutch foreign minister asks Israel’s PM to restart peace talks. Bert Koenders has asked Israel’s prime minister to restart peace talks with the Palestinians.

POLAND

GazetaAngry at Kukiz. Two pillars of Paweł Kukiz’s presidential campaign, the “Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy” and “Ruch na rzecz JOW” groups, put an end to their cooperation with the musician and plan to run separately in autumn parliamentary elections.

SPAIN
