BBC Europe – Crimean gold must go back to Ukraine, says Dutch court. An Amsterdam court has ruled that ancient treasures on loan to a Dutch museum should be handed to Ukraine and not the Crimea museums they came from. Russia annexed Crimea in March 2014, while the collection was on display at the Allard Pierson museum in Amsterdam. Four museums in Crimea asked for the collection to be returned, but Ukraine argued that it was state property.
